In that case I would say go for PhD. Directly file GC under EB1 - no hassle no retrogression :)

Your PD is not yet current.
If they have issued GC to you, it was a mistake and you should report it to USCIS to avoid future problems.
There were several discussions on this forum about this issue.
Report to USCIS ASAP that you have been approved by mistake.
I thought with PD of 2004 by now you should be well aware of how Visa bulletins work. :confused:

I know many in my circle, who are waiting for GC but never bother about VB. Some don't even have emails. Perhaps VB watching is more prominent among computer guys.

The Sheriff or his officers are not Wardens. A Warden(the head of a prison) can order it if the inmate has demonstrated a history of assaultive behavior or escaped before. Neither applies. And the restraints have to be the least restrictive, not have both legs and hands shackled.

I really appreciate you taking your time to let us know the facts(I hope not). Thanks.I sent it to Nebraska and it reache on July 3rd 2007 and it was trnasferred to Texas. I am not sure what's there in my profile, I just entered the dates when it didn't let me login to the site. It did not let login even if I didn't enter an RFE date and I had to enter some date. My I-140 was approved from Texas. One more thing, when I e-Filed for EAD and AP this year, it went to Texas, though IO gave a Midwest address which falls under Nebraska, I don't know why and I was surprised and happy too as Texas was approving the applications very fast, but mine is not yet approved (Applied on 29th June).

I have Masters from India and also had Five years of experience even before 2004, by then I was in US for more than 5 years. Also, when my employer applied Labor in 2004, I was just Five days away from my 5th year ending on L1/H1.
One more thing I bought a home in 2005 when my labor was pending some where, may be in Local Labor Department or PBEC or somewhere inbetween, and have been living happily. I am also worried about the GC but not paranoid about it.
Many guys here worry too much, just relax and live a peaqceful life. Jus think this, we are highly educated and would defintely be able to make a living anywhere in the world, not just US. Don't worry tooo much and think others have no work and want to fool you guys.

Thanks for the replies. I guess, I do not have time to get all that done before I file the I485. Damn, should have taken care of it earlier. I guess I will have to fill the forms just as I have done for the labor and then hope that I am not stuck. Will follow up with my lawyer to get some legal advice too. If I learn anything new, I will sure post.

The sheriffs dept took her to the hospital to ensure that in case there is any complication, things could be take care of. Why? Because its the law and the majority in this country respect the law. No one, even illegals, can be denied emergent care. This would not happen if she were in Mexico or India. No free medical care there, and no one gives a shit about the rights of prisoners there. So what happens next? This woman, WHO HAS NO BUSINESS BEING IN THIS COUNTRY, goes to her advocacy group who arrange to have an article in the news that tries to portray this as if the sheriff forced her to deliver in a prison. This is all to garner sympathy for the illegal immigrant. We should know better and see through their guile. The illegal lobby is the main reason why there is no chance for meaningful reform for legal immigrants to be passed. They insist on linking us to them.
If every one decides to choose for themselves which law they will obey and which they will ignore, society can not exist. And as I pointed out in my previous post, this woman has a history of repeated violations of the law and is NOT a victim that this biased article tries to portray her as.
And your theory about child birth leading to near death like pain is absolutely baseless. Pain is a subjective phenomenon and what is expireinced as a 9/10 by some hysterical yuppy, will be a 0 to others. Childbirth is a NATURAL phenomenon. Ask your grandma and she will tell you how every one delivered without epidurals and caeserians at her time.

The world of politics is driven by numbers; you do not have enough numbers to get any lawmaker interested. So wake up Macacas, admit it, you all are bunch of losers.
So far as the skills are concerned, you have been harping on the theme that you are highly skilled? If the definition of highly skilled is a mere undergrad degrees then 75% of Adult Americans are highly skilled. I bet not even 5% of you have PHDs and you call yourself highly skilled. Huhhh

it is the uncertainty and the the inability to take long term decisions which are a problem (most issues are well documented) besides i might love my job but in todays environment a company's reciprocation could be fickle and can easily change with a downturn:p.
anyways my pet peeve is that people come here with brillant ideas and when the time comes to do something most of the backers melt away. Some are active for a short period of time and then give up, some read the forums and feel that its a waste. I say this because we meet people, these days most immigrats know about IV.
