Aren't these pretty complex questions for them.
Why can't we ask a simple question like this?
1. Given the green card woes lot of US eductated scientists and technical talent are leaving US for their home country. This is helping the home country and increasing outsourcing market. What are you going to do about it? Are you going to do any thing to keep them here?

hey zelda, that aint crap just needs a little bit of work, as grinch above me said, try getting out your marquee tools and cutting out the shapes instead of using the eraser, that will give you the crisp lines you will want for the "pad" and the "screen" and try and get your image all the way to the edge of the ipod. then it will look super cool!!

IV has to convince the government that this mess was created because close to 100000 visas were WASTED/UnUsed while BEC was busy(or not busy) sorting through the cases. If it is the mistake of a govt department, then the govt should fix it by recapturing these visas. They will act only when you make them look bad or file a suit against them. Why hasn't IV been able to push a simple argument like this????

Did it occur to anyone that we are only talking about compensating Aman the $64k he spent already. Imagine if he had made use of that $64k as an investment(let us say a safe investment with minimum returns) of that amount it should have exceeded that $64k value by now.
The least we can do at this moment is to immediately refund Aman and other core team members the amount they have spent towards the administrative costs of IV. Pappu / Logic Life / Other core team members, please let us know what kind of legal/administrative action is required to get this done.
We will immediately start a funding drive towards filling in this shortage from the total IV funds. IMHO on the longer run the smaller funds ($10, $20 etc) should not be neglected.
Let us figure out the required amount and have a new thread started about this. This settlement should be treated with high priority before any other funding drive. Pledging my $200 towards this.

Not a single penny has been reimbursed to him for his trips to DC, food and stay in DC or car rental in DC. He even risked his job and went to DC on unpaid leave at critical times because lobbying was important for getting our work done. We in the core team know this and when we see the kind of contributions we get from members, we feel disappointed that our efforts are not valued. When we started the $20 contributions people felt $20 was too high and wanted $10 per month or less. The kind of work and effort that is needed to push a single provision is phenomenal and needs lot of capital. The more the better. Sometimes reading posts that say IV core is selfish also disappoints us. People do not know the effort that goes in getting anything done. This website is simply a tool for us to communicate to everyone. The big effort is the lobbying work. This is a developing story. I am sure there are lots of IV members in H1 and getting/going to be affected. one of the option I am trying to explore is to take the USCIS and CBP to the court. They do not have the authority to decide the employer-employee relationship.

Remember, even as non-citizens, we get millions of benefits such 911, clean roads, and the list will go on. Why do you think we want to immigrate in the first place? For example, if a law is passed to return to us all the taxes that we have paid but we must leave ASAP, how many will be in its favor?
I don't think this kind of an argument will hold any water with the press or lawmakers. There are other good VALID arguments, and we should stick to them.

People who are backlogged in the gc queue.. facing career hardships.. or frustrated... :( ..are still hanging on to their hope of getting a gc.. someday! To be part of the American Dream. -- They are the ones visiting this website, to check if there is any news.. any ray of hope for their doldrum existence.
Do you think they will say yes to you?
The guys who decide to move back unfortunately don't come to this website.
During the last recession & once in a while I see lot of smart guys (lot smarter and lot more educated than myself) move back to their home country. Not because they don't have a job but due to better prospects back home (booming economy et al). They came here since America showed promise.. they left because the way they were treated was not what they expected. Bottomline America failed to holdback those brainy folks. They may have said yes to you. They probably wouldn't have bothered. So coming back to our conclusion. Wrong question.. wrong addressee..:p

EB3 I is still very unfortunate... I guess this is how the melting pot works... correct me if I am wrong.
Out of 140K Visas 7%= 9800 is assigned to India (All Categories)
Out of 9800 - First EB1 then left over EB2 and Then leftover to EB3 :(
From over all left over of 140K - First EB1 then left over EB2 and Then leftover to EB3 (all other countries) - Left over (EB3 China) - Left over to (EB3 India) :(
EB3 India is lowest on the FOOD Chain!!!
EB3 India is not unlucky but thats the default category for any one to apply when they or job doesn't let them go for Eb1/2.
So the obvious reason is:
when we have brand new lot of 85K H1s most of them apply for Eb3, and big chuck is Indian (no 7% cap here), but regardless of category, if 85k applies for GC, with one dependent it counts 130k.
And for GC allocation we have country cap which is ONLY 7% when we have 70% applicants. Do the math, 85000*.7*2= 119000 applicants for GC from India each year and they are entitled for 140000*.07=9800 and now lets say with all favors from ROW and EB1 we got double say about 20,000 still there is a back log of about 100K each year.
Thats assuming everybody applies for GC out of 85K H1 stock.
Based on this I don't see EB3 to become FIFO or backlogless because the system is not balanced,
# of ppl coming on H1 each year * xfactor = #of GC given to EB each year
