Didnt USCIS issue a Memo or something stating only one h1B filing per person?
I believe this time around USCIS is planning to pick the lottery based on passport number. So, even if you have multiple applications from different companies, you will have to choose one among them.

1. What led to this interview? Did they schedule the interview or you took an infopass appointment?
2. When IO reviewed your case, did they look at your physical I-485 file? Did the service center transfer your case to the USCIS office you went for the interview?

Do you know why all arguments against F1 to GC are moot? It's because US does NOT view it as misuse. They are talking about not letting the students go, and stapling GC's to certificates. Do you think there will be any result from fighting that sentiment?
This is another rant idea and it is wasting everyone's time. I request all to pls stop bumping this thread on that count

My I-485 was recieved on 7/3/07.
140 was approved 6/2006 by TSC. See a LUD on 7/28/07.
My 485 was sent to NSC.
Still waiting for reciepts/cashed checks.

Last time around, there are lot of cases in preadjucated state, So, they were able to approve in thousands. This time, most cases they did not touch till now. That makes it difficult to expect lot of approvals.

I like your idea. And I do support it in spite I not being in similar situation.. However with a little bit experienece I have with similar work flow improvement projects I would like to point out that the impact on labour/cost has to be thought through. My understanding is the agency has not been using Visa numbers because they are heavily loaded. Now if you ask them to do this pre-adjudicataion for all cases that will impose a sever load on them. I may be completely wrong here - it could be another department, another agency so this may not be an issue at all.. but if possible think through this as we submit a proposal.. If needed (now gals and guys don't beat me up!) we could even pay them (So they could hire people) to get this pre-adjudication done?

Thanks for opening this thread.I am sure there be plenty of struggling stories to inspire us fight till we reach our goals. I like the way you are giving small snippets of stories without compromising privacy of the person.
If we can get permission from the person to print these stories on IV website , that would be great read and inspire lot of members.
This person's company promoted him to IT Manager with huge hike and then he learnt from company attorney that he cannot change his role while his LPR is in process. He then got demoted to Sr.Software enginner from IT Manager and the hike was rolled back
This is truly the shocking reality of the life of legal immigrants. We need more and more such stories to pass on to our senators...please keep on sending these stories.....

F1 is not a scam. its legal visa. once u enter into usa on F1, u can stay here to study. while doing MS, u can also work on CPT legally. after completion of the MS degree, it is legal to stay on OPT and work. recently the US govt has increased the OPT period from 12 to 29 months. again its legal. its legal to apply for H1B while maintaining a proper F1 status or OPT.
People who dont like this.... dont either because they dont understand F1 very well, or just plainly speaking jealous or out of their mind.
i guess we should be happy if someone is making progress legally even if we are not in the same boat.:)

Why does it have to be only STEM graduates which will not need employer sponsership. If giving GC based on completion of MS in us is bypassing the employee sponserhsip then that has to be extended to all EB categories of immigrants (EB1/EB2/EB3) and the benefit o those visas have to be passed to the badly retrogressed category first.
It si not teh question of liek or unliking or having jealousy. It is the question of law. According to the US law employee sponsership is EB category so any new bill which has to be introduced will have to follow the EB category employee sponsership rule, othwer wise it wil not see the light of the day

This is one of the more reasonable proposals heard here. To give it more credibility, I think we should add an earnings threshold to it. Something like 500K to 1 million in cumulative W-2 earnings. No matter what your country of birth or your educational qualification is, If you contributed significantly to this country and you are law abiding then you deserve a little respect so that you can do more of the same.

We will each individually send flowers to Emilio Gonzalez to be delivered July 10th. There is a suggestion to use a paypal account where we contribute money. However no one has come forward to take over the account so far.
