Even the most conservative estimate will show 25k EB2 applications between October 1st 2005 - September 1st 2006. You still have Eb3 to eb2 conversions, labor subs etc. So 1 lakh 485 including dependents is good for 2004 and 2005. With per country quota of 3800 + row scraps I still think a person with PD 2006 Eb2 will wait a decade to get his green card or end up at Silicon valley of India, Bangalore.

Can we have some tieup with some flower delivering company? Like, for each floer ordered by IV member, some percentage will be donated to IV. But the point is every one from here will order the flowers through them. Any thoughts?

Is IV only for those who have filed I485?
I gave my opinion and people gave me lot of reds. There is a majority here who already have EAD and have filed I485. You people do not care for those who are less fortunate and struggling in the early stages of the process. If July 07 had not happened, all of you would be asking for I485 filing option today.
By giving reds to people who disagree you will drive people away and make IV only for those who have filed I485 and not for the entire EB immigration people.

I hope Pappu will post a succinent summary of the event soon. Please dont do it in donors forum only. Many of us have contributed to IVs efforts and for one reason or other don't have donor access.

F1 is not a scam. its legal visa. once u enter into usa on F1, u can stay here to study. while doing MS, u can also work on CPT legally. after completion of the MS degree, it is legal to stay on OPT and work. recently the US govt has increased the OPT period from 12 to 29 months. again its legal. its legal to apply for H1B while maintaining a proper F1 status or OPT.
People who dont like this.... dont either because they dont understand F1 very well, or just plainly speaking jealous or out of their mind.
i guess we should be happy if someone is making progress legally even if we are not in the same boat.:)

Why does it have to be only STEM graduates which will not need employer sponsership. If giving GC based on completion of MS in us is bypassing the employee sponserhsip then that has to be extended to all EB categories of immigrants (EB1/EB2/EB3) and the benefit o those visas have to be passed to the badly retrogressed category first.

According to the US law employee sponsership is EB category so any new bill which has to be introduced will have to follow the EB category employee sponsership rule, othwer wise it wil not see the light of the day

No, I didn't go out of the country for stamping, coz i was under the impression that my visa was Change of Status from L-1 to H-1. Only now, i could find from the immigration lawyer that i don't have a valid I-94. My employer was napping too, all this while.
u never got H1 approval notice with I-94 in it? If yes, then u have been out of status for over 6 months now.

Well, I just successfully contributed my 2nd $100 to IV. There is just no way we are going to give up this time. It is not going to come easy, especially not without the relatively small financial sacrifice. But the return --Immeasurable peace of mind and relief. I just saw this post and I would like to understand a bit more about what you read. So, I have two questions for you:
1. What is your EB category?
2. What exactly did the memo say? Now be careful and think hard before you post.
For instance, you may cover the following in your post:
- Who was it addressed to?
- What was the subject?
- Was it about about EB or FB?
- Did it mention any dates?
- Did it mention any country names?
- Was there anything about what the adjudicators are supposed to do?
- Which city/state was this?

This interview EXPOSED how un-informed and careless and whimsical are IOs in handling cases. MEMO should have been framed on their desks/mind....we don't have to remind these guys. In one moment they can deny as important a petition as AOS and just in a flash second they can approve it. They won't make any effort to dig out relevant info. It is like fliping a coin...plain luck when it comes to GC.

The problem with the IOs is that they have so much work they don't have time to look at the folders for long. Some time ago I attended interview of my fiance's - she was sponsored by her mom. This was such a shock to me, the IO had NO IDEA what was in folder, asked stupid questions and attempted to deny the case improperly - and then I kicked in and explained the story.... That really sucks.

I was asking a question as to what should be done to people who already got their GC thru Labor Sub, since someone said that all the subs of 2007 should get the I-140 filing date as the priority date. I care only about the present and future. This is what I meant when I asked the question.

People we have a question, throw us some light now that our application officailly falls under current dates....
Our service center is Texas Center and the dates -
Priority Date - Oct 18 2004
485 Received Date - Aug 17th 2007
485 Notice Date - Oct 16th 2007
The current processing time for Texas Service Center is August 23rd 2007. Do they process based on reciept date or notice date? From the past experience we know that they donot process based on priority dates (We have been current for 3 times in the past and saw approvals for PD's in 2006 with earlier notice and receipt dates)
I called uscis a couple of weeks agoand again today, I was told (by two different resp) that they go by Receipt date.
